Crows midfielder Scott Thompson was the leading Fantasy scorer on the ground in Adelaide’s clash with West Coast on Sunday.
Thompson notched 115 points from 29 possessions, seven tackles and six marks against the Eagles. It was Thompson’s best total since Round 17 and his 11th Fantasy ton of the season.
The tough midfielder has dropped significantly in price after a lean fortnight and is currently the cheapest he’s been all season at $487,000.
But Thompson is still Adelaide’s second-best Fantasy performer this year with an average of 97 points per game. If you needing some extra grunt heading into AFL Fantasy Grand Final week, Thompson is one of the best buys under $500,000 going around at the moment.
Fellow midfielder Rory Sloane continued his late-season Fantasy surge with his third ton on the trot against the Eagles on the weekend. Sloane notched 111 points from 25 touches, seven tackles, six marks and a goal in a sublime performance in the sunshine at Adelaide Oval.
Since returning from his second cheekbone injury of the year back in Round 17, Sloane has averaged over 100 points and has only dipped below 90 once through all six games.
He’s one of the form Fantasy players in the competition at the moment. Sloane scored 109 points in Adelaide’s last meeting with Geelong at Simonds Stadium, and could be worth serious consideration heading into AFL Fantasy Grand Final week.
It’s been an up and down year on the Fantasy front for Richard Douglas, but the gun midfielder produced a timely 102 against West Coast on Sunday from 25 disposals and five marks. It was just the fourth Fantasy century for the 2010 Club Champion this year.
Douglas has averaged a respectable 84 points per game, and is a tempting option at $433,000 given he notched a huge 113 from 33 possessions in his last outing against the Cats.
Taylor Walker was the fourth and final Crows centurion in Adelaide’s big win in Round 22. The skipper notched an even 100 points from 17 possessions, a game-high 12 marks and three goals.
Tex is one of many Crows hitting top form at the right time of the year. He’s now notched three Fantasy tons in his past four weeks and has added $70k to his value over the same period.
Expect this trend to continue as Adelaide looks to build its winning momentum against the Cats at Simonds Stadium.
Line-breaking Crow Brodie Smith was back to his best with a 99 from an equal game-high 29 disposals and four marks.
It was his highest score since Round Two, when he produced a 111 against Collingwood at Etihad Stadium for his only Fantasy ton of the year so far.
Smith is another Crow who will be looking for a big finish to the premiership season this weekend heading into this year’s Finals Series.
