South Australia’s bid for a third successive national U18 title starts on Saturday with a sprinkling of league experienced players named in the first side.
West Adelaide midfielder Will Snelling has been named captain of the team to play Western Australia in Perth and will be supported by AIS Academy players Aaron Francis and Luke Partington.
The match, which begins at 12.50pm SA time, will be the curtain-raiser for the SANFL State team’s clash against the WAFL at 3.45pm SA time.
This is the first of six games scheduled across the next six weeks.
SA has also finalised its 40-man squad for the AFL National U18 Championships.
