Consistent Crow Richard Douglas has been upgraded to dual-position status in AFL Fantasy in the final round of upgrades for the 2016 season.
Douglas is now selectable as a FWD/MID in all versions of the game as the build up to Fantasy finals begins to heat up.
The 2010 Club Champion has enjoyed more time up forward this season under the AFL’s new interchange cap. Douglas split his time evenly between the defensive and offensive halves of the ground last season, but he’s earned 57 per cent of all possessions in Adelaide’s attacking half in 2016. This figure creeps up to 62 per cent when the Crows win.
Douglas has kicked 14 goals this year, including two bags of three goals against Melbourne and Richmond. He’s priced generously at just $373,000 with an average of 74 Fantasy points per match.
He is the only Crow who has benefitted from a DPP upgrade in-season in 2016.
The most expensive player included in the latest batch of DPP upgrades is St Kilda’s Nick Riewoldt (MID/FWD, $522,000), whose many games roaming around the wing this year have seen him pick up midfielder status.
Hawks skipper Luke Hodge (DEF/MID, $481,000) has slotted nicely into his ‘quarterback’ role of years past since returning from injury, and has added defender status this week. Hodge has averaged 102 in the past three weeks - only Bulldog Matthew Boyd has done better among defenders in that time.
Port Adelaide duo Matthew Broadbent (DEF/MID, $402,000) and Hamish Hartlett (DEF/MID, $365,000) also now have added flexibility.
Exciting Melbourne youngster Jayden Hunt (DEF/FWD, $287,000) has been a popular cash cow option and can now be used to upgrade to a premium forward or defender.
