Dual Showdown Medallist Sam Jacobs is likely to be fit for Saturday night’s clash with Port Adelaide.
Jacobs, 28, has missed Adelaide’s past two games because of a minor ankle injury.
The influential ruckman started running again last week, and Crows General Manager of High Performance Brett Burton said he expected Jacobs to return this weekend.
“Sauce has been training well throughout his rehabilitation process,” Burton said.
“We look forward to him training on Wednesday and, all going well, being available to play.”
Wingman Paul Seedsman could also be available after missing the trip to WA with a corked buttock.
Seedsman sustained the injury in the first quarter of the Club’s Round 20 win over the Brisbane Lions.
“Paul’s taken a little bit longer (to recover) than first expected,” Burton said.
“We’ll see how he goes … and he’ll be a ‘test’ for later in the week.”
Forward/ruckman Luke Lowden, who sprained his ankle in the SANFL, was the only new injury reported at either level on the weekend.
Lowden will undergo further assessment to determine the extent of the damage.
Riley Knight (ankle), Ricky Henderson (Achilles), Andy Otten (thumb) and Nathan van Berlo (foot) all made successful returns from injury in Adelaide’s SANFL win over Norwood on Saturday.
Defender Sam Shaw, who made his long-awaited comeback in the SANFL a fortnight ago, didn’t play against the Redlegs after experiencing concussion-related symptoms.
“As we have done all year, we take that very seriously and take a cautious approach. We’ll continue to do so for the rest of the year,” Burton said.
Rookie-listed forward Keenan Ramsey is progressing well in his recovery from an ankle injury and hopes to return against South Adelaide next weekend.
Injury list as of Monday, August 15
Sam Jacobs (ankle) – Test
Paul Seedsman (corked buttock) – Test
