Three ‘Crow brothers’ are hoping to start AFL careers of their own in this year’s draft.
Jamie Hampton, Tyson Lever and Corey Lyons are among the prospective draftees in 2016.
Jamie Hampton is the younger brother of exciting Adelaide utility Curtly, who is set to make his SANFL debut for the Club on Saturday after recovering from a long-term foot injury.
A 186cm, 78kg, running defender, Jamie possesses similar athletic traits to Curtly.
Jamie represented the Northern Territory at the Under-18 Division Two National Championships, and was then selected in the combined Allies squad to play at Division One level.
From Alice Springs, Jamie is currently boarding at Immanuel College in Adelaide just as Curtly did prior to being recruited by Greater Western Sydney. He is also aligned to SANFL club West Adelaide, where’s he’s played one Reserves and one Under-18 game this season.
Tyson Lever is a different style of player to key defender, Jake.
Tyson, who is nearly 10 centimetres shorter than his Crow brother, is a strong, inside midfielder.
The second of four Lever siblings, Tyson is currently representing the Calder Cannons in the TAC Cup. He’s one of the younger players in the draft pool, not turning 18 until October.
Adelaide onballer Jarryd Lyons kept a close eye on brother Corey during the National Championships.
Corey followed in Jarryd’s footsteps by representing Victoria Metro, who went on to claim the title.
Corey, who is a similar size to Jarryd, collected 20 possessions and a goal playing as a midfielder in Metro’s win over the Allies.
Adelaide already has several players with siblings currently playing in the AFL: Brad and Matt Crouch, Mitch and Jeremy McGovern (West Coast), Daniel and Michael Talia (Sydney Swans) and Troy and Daniel Menzel (Geelong).
