Adelaide’s entire playing squad and several members of the Club’s AFL Women’s team have helped spread some Christmas cheer at the Adelaide Women’s & Children’s Hospital.
Senior Coach Don Pyke also made a special appearance during the visit to the facility in North Adelaide on Tuesday, where players handed out gifts, signed autographs and posed for photos with the children and their families.
The squad was split into 12 different groups to ensure the Christmas spirit was spread across each ward and outpatient clinic at the hospital.
Many patients will spend Christmas at the hospital, which made the visit all that more special for the kids and their families.
Unknown to many external to the Club, Crows players made regular visits to the hospital throughout the year. Groups of players made fortnightly visits immediately after training sessions held at nearby Adelaide Oval.
It was an initiative led by Rory Sloane, Adelaide’s senior leadership group and the Crows Children’s Foundation as a small way to make a difference in the community.
The Crows Children’s Foundation has donated $60,000 to the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation over the past two years to help support the facility in providing the best treatment possible for our state’s children.
