CEO Andrew Fagan has thanked the nearly 55,000 members who have signed up for Season 2016.

Adelaide Oval is on the verge of being sold out for Crows home games, while the waiting list for reserved seats at the popular venue continues to grow.

However, Fagan said there was still an opportunity for fans to attend Adelaide matches by joining as General Admission members for either 3 or 11 games.

“Our renewal rate, speaking to the (membership) guys who have been here for a few years, is the highest in recent memory, which is fantastic,” Fagan said on FIVEaa on Wednesday.

“... We’re tracking close to 55,000 members. We’ve got a great fixture as we’ve spoken about … so we’d encourage people to join up.

“Even with the 3 Game Membership, you get the opportunity to jump on the waiting list as well, so I’d encourage people to contact the Club and do that.

“I couldn’t be happier and thank you to all of our members who have renewed or joined. We do really appreciate it and I’m sure the environment at Adelaide Oval is going to be a wonderful one this season.”

This season will be Fagan’s second in charge of the Club.

It will be Senior Coach Don Pyke’s first season following his appointment in October.

Fagan said he’d been pleased with Pyke’s transition into the role, as well as that of new High Performance Manager Brett Burton and new defensive coaches James Podsiadly (AFL) and Paul Thomas (Development).

“There’s been some change. We’ve had a lot of that at this Club over the last few years,” Fagan said.

“You’d really like just to bed it all down and continue in a more straightforward manner, but I’ve been really happy with the appointment of all those individuals.

“We’ve got 40-plus players regularly out there training, which is a really healthy squad. That doesn’t happen by accident. It means we’ve got everyone working collegiately. Don, and Brett Burton have been outstanding – the whole high performance team have been great.

“Of course, we’ve played nobody and won nothing (this pre-season). The guys have just been working hard. I know they’re looking forward to, in 25 days, go out and play some footy and test ourselves properly.

“At this time of year, given the change that’s taken place, I couldn’t be happier with how everyone has settled in.”

Despite trying circumstances, the Crows finished sixth on the AFL ladder last season.

Fagan said the expectation was for the Club to improve in 2016.

“I’ve had people put that question to me, ‘Because you’ve had change, do you take a step back? Or do you still go forward?’ he said.

“I think we still look forward. We’ve got a list we think is really strong and healthy. We’ve got great coaching staff in place and wonderful support (from our members and in Adelaide and around the country. We’ve got a great venue out of which we play.

“I’d expect that we should perform well. We always look forward to playing finals and that’s the expectation.”
