The Crows Children’s Foundation is proud to be the major partner of the Salvation Army’s new youth initiative, Street Dreams, launched at Mount Barker on Wednesday night.

This initiative is a hip-hop dance program that inspires young people aged 8–18 years to reach their full potential in physical, mental and emotional health, and is particularly targeted towards ‘at risk’ youth in the Mount Barker community.

Musicians Making a Difference (MMAD) created the program on the eastern seaboard in partnership with the Salvation Army, with the Foundation providing the seed funding of $18,000 to introduce the initiative to South Australia.

Over 150 people attended Wednesday’s launch, which featured a range of activities for kids to enjoy including face painting, a jumping castle and a special session with hip-hop legend, Justice Crew’s Samson Smith.

Samson wowed the crowd with an impressive headspin and gave Crows Children’s Foundation Board Member Kyle Hartigan a few tips to take back to his teammates.

A wait list has already been compiled for a follow-up session such was the success of the launch.
