Adelaide has signed South Australian Dayna Cox as the final free agent for its inaugural AFL Women’s list.
The addition of the 22-year-old midfielder completes the Crows’ squad of 27 for the next year’s inaugural AFL Women’s competition.
Cox, the eighth player signed from Morphettville Park, was introduced to football through her father and started playing competitively when she was eight.
She joins the Crows’ list through Free Agency rules which provide an opportunity for those athletes who were not picked up in the AFL Women’s Draft to be selected.
Crows Senior Coach Bec Goddard said Cox would provide a significant boost to the Crows’ midfield.
“Dayna has had a few setbacks with injury but has worked really hard to get herself back to top level,” Goddard said.
“She is a fantastic chase down tackler and she also loves to push forward from half-back to kick a goal.
“We’re thrilled to have now finalised our squad of 27 and we’re looking forward to the official commencement of pre-season on November 21.”
The Crows AFL Women’s team is in partnership with AFLNT.
