Kyle Hartigan is free to play this week despite being charged with engaging in rough conduct.
Hartigan can accept a $1,000 sanction with an early plea for his bump on Fremantle forward Michael Walters in the fourth quarter of Adelaide’s 33-point win on Saturday.
Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Fremantle Football Club, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the head.
The incident was classified as a $1,500 sanction. Hartigan has no applicable record which impacts the penalty. An early plea enables the player to accept a $1000 sanction.
Fellow defender Tom Doedee is also available for selection after his SANFL match-day report for rough conduct was thrown out.
Doedee, 19, was reported for a hip and shoulder on South Adelaide’s Nic Schwarz during Sunday’s frenetic final quarter at Noarlunga. A free kick was paid against Doedee for making high contact, but the umpire’s charge was dismissed by the SANFL following a review of the vision.
