David and Sarah Mackay have become parents for the first time, welcoming a baby boy.

William Alexander Mackay was born at 6:24pm on Monday, September 26, weighing 3.7 kilograms and measuring 52 centimetres in length. Proud Dad David helped deliver baby William.

David and Sarah attended the Crows Club Champion presentation on Friday night where David received Life Membership and the Dr Brian Sando OAM Trophy. The couple, who were married two years ago, have been together since before David was drafted by Adelaide in 2006.

Baby William was born exactly one week after retired former skipper Nathan van Berlo and wife Jess welcomed their first child, daughter Zara.

William's birth was far less eventful than the arrival of Zara, who came into the world on 'Mad Monday'. Watch as 'VB' tells the funny story.

Forward Tom Lynch and his partner Courtney had their second child, daughter Tayla in April. Lynch, who was a late withdrawal from Adelaide's Round Three clash with Richmond at Etihad Stadium, made a mad dash back from Melbourne to be at Tayla's birth.
