The Crouch brothers were among Adelaide’s leading possession winners against Gold Coast. Matt amassed 35 touches, while Brad collected 33 in his first AFL game of the season.

The three ‘Rorys’, Laird (33), Sloane (30) and Atkins (29) were next-highest on the Club’s disposal tally.

Of Brad’s 33 possessions, 17 were contested – a game high. Matt won 16 contested possessions.

Brad, who only played 72 per cent game time in his return from a hamstring injury, won a possession every 2.6 minutes on average. Only Geelong skipper Joel Selwood (2.4), Collingwood ball magnet Adam Treloar (2.4) and Port Adelaide vice-captain Ollie Wines (2.5) won more disposals per minute of game time than the eldest Crouch sibling.

Brad also won 14 ground-ball gets – behind only Treloar (18) and promising Melbourne onballer Clayton Oliver (15) in Round Five.

Matt Crouch and Sloane finished with an equal-game high nine clearances.

Sloane (13) and Hampton (10) combined to apply 23 of Adelaide’s 63 tackles against Gold Coast. Only Port Adelaide onballer Brad Ebert (14) laid more tackles than Sloane for the round.

Once again, the Crows won the tackle count despite being in front on the scoreboard the whole game.

Wingman David Mackay gathered a season-high 23 possessions at 91.3 per cent efficiency.

Crows forward Tom Lynch took a game-high 10 marks – one more than Suns namesake Tom Lynch.

Swingman Andy Otten took four contested marks – the equal-most of any player in Round Five. Otten also had an equal-round high five score assists.

Atkins generated a game and equal-round high eight inside 50ms. Key back Kyle Hartigan rebounded the ball from defensive 50m more times (seven) than any other Crow.

Fellow defender Jake Lever took five marks from opposition kick – second only to Tom Barrass of West Coast (six) for the round. As a team Adelaide led the competition in intercept marks (20).

Adelaide had 13 different goalkickers in the 67-point win at Metricon Stadium. Lynch and Eddie Betts both finished with three goals, while Hampton, Otten, Taylor Walker, Troy Menzel, Riley Knight and Charlie Cameron each kicked two.

The Crows have scored 666 points after five rounds. The only time the Club has scored more points in the first five rounds was in 1996, when the Crows had kicked 679 points after Round Five.

Adelaide has won all 10 clashes with Gold Coast – its longest current winning streak against any club.
