Aspiring AFLW players are now able to nominate for the 2017 NAB AFL Women’s Draft, to be held on Wednesday, October 18 in Melbourne.
Players have until September 29 to nominate online via http://womensdraft.afl.com.au.
With 2018 AFLW squads extended to 30 – including 27 senior-listed players and three rookies – Adelaide has nine places to fill on its 2018 list.
Earlier this year the Crows secured 20 members of its history-making premiership team, including co-captains Erin Phillips and Chelsea Randall.
Olympic beach volleyball player Becchara Palmer has also been signed to the Club as a rookie.
The 2017 draft will again be state-based, which means that players are only able to nominate in one state of their choice.
Much like last year, a free agency period will be held on October 19 and 20 to allow Clubs to consider interstate players that may be willing to move if not selected in the draft.
A rookie draft will also be held on Friday, October 20 for players under the age of 21 or that haven’t been registered to play Australian Football in the previous three years.
Pre-season will commence mid-November, with the 2018 AFLW season to run in February and March.
