The Crows have named an unchanged team for Friday night’s AFLW clash with Fremantle in Darwin.

Co-captain Erin Phillips, who sat out the second half of Adelaide’s win over Carlton last weekend because of quad soreness, will play against the Dockers.

Onballers Sally Riley and Georgia Bevan are the emergencies.

The match at TIO Stadium is a ‘home’ game for the Crows, who have a partnership with AFL Northern Territory.

Adelaide’s squad includes a host of players with Territory ties, including joint-vice captains Riley and Ange Foley, defender Stevie-Lee Thompson, forward Abbey Holmes, midfielder Sophie Armitstead and utility Jasmyn Hewett.

As a Darwin-based member of the senior leadership group, Foley will captain the team on Friday night.

Coach Bec Goddard said the Crows were excited to return to the Top End, where the team played a trial game against Fremantle in January.

“It’s always like coming home when we come to Darwin,” she said.

“It’s a massive opportunity for our Club tomorrow (Friday) night.

“Freo are playing some good footy and have beaten us in a couple of trial matches in Darwin, so it’ll be a great challenge and a really important game for us.”

The opening bounce is at 5:35pm local time with gates open at 4pm. Entry is free.

The AFLW heat policy will be in effect on Friday night.

The AFL uses the ‘bulb’ to determine heat and humidity levels on a match-by-match basis.

The forecast for Darwin on Friday is 34 degrees with a medium chance of showers.

As a result of the heat policy, the quarter and three-quarter time breaks increased from six-and-a-half minutes to eight minutes with teams also able to leave the ground. The half-time break will be increased from 16 to 20 minutes and teams can have two extra water carriers.

The game will be broadcast live into Adelaide on 7Mate and nationwide on Fox Sports 503.

Currently in fifth place on the ladder, the Crows must defeat the Dockers to keep their season alive.

Adelaide will wear its Indigenous clash jumper, designed by AFL legend and women’s team assistant coach Andrew McLeod, on Friday night. From Darwin, McLeod played 340 games for the Crows.

AFLW will celebrate International Women’s Day this round. As part of the celebrations, the ‘W’ logo on the ground will be turned from coral to purple. The goal umpire’s flags will also be purple.
