Utility Andy Otten is set to play his first game of the season this week.
Otten, 28, has overcome an Achilles injury which kept him out of the first few rounds.
Adelaide GM of High Performance Matt Hass said it was pleasing for Otten to be available for selection.
“We were managing that (Achilles soreness) the last couple of weeks,” Hass said.
“Otto has done a bucket load of training recently, so we’re more than happy to put him up for SANFL selection.”
Pleasingly, forward Tom Lynch made a successful return from illness against St Kilda on Saturday night, while midfield trio Riley Knight (ankle), Curtly Hampton (adductor) and Myles Poholke (hip) all played in the SANFL on Sunday.
Hass said the Club would place extra emphasis on recovery leading into Friday night’s clash with Collingwood at Adelaide Oval.
“We’ve had two six-day breaks in the first three rounds, so we’ve had to manage loads accordingly,” Hass said
“We have our main training session two days out from the game, so we’re building into that and then we’ll train quite normally from there into the match.”
Reigning Club Champion Matt Crouch, recruit Sam Gibson and defender Kyle Cheney are progressing through their rehabilitation from hamstring injuries.
The trio is expected to build back to full fitness over the next two weeks.
Alex Keath is still recovering from an ankle injury sustained in the JLT Community Series, while Brad Crouch and draftee Andy McPherson are managing groin soreness.
Adelaide’s SANFL team takes on South Adelaide at Noarlunga on Saturday afternoon.
