Greater Western Sydney has received more terrible news on the injury front ahead of Saturday night's clash with Adelaide in Canberra.
The Giants had four players go down against Carlton on Sunday, with Toby Greene (hamstring), Brett Deledio (calf), Dawson Simpson (ankle) and Sam Taylor (hamstring) all finishing the game on the bench.
At various stages in the second half, the visitors were forced to play 16 or 17 on the field in a bid to get through the rest of the game without any more concerns.
Post-match scans revealed significant ligament damage and a fracture in Simpson's ankle, and he's a massive chance to miss the rest of the year, while Greene and Taylor face the prospect of not playing again before the finals.
Deledio's fate is still uncertain but after suffering yet another calf strain against the Blues, his chances of taking the field again in 2018 appear to be remote.
Tom Scully (ankle) has also been ruled out for the rest of the year after failing to recover from the injury he suffered in the opening quarter of the Giants' win over Collingwood in round two.
In positive news for the club, Dylan Shiel (ankle), Ryan Griffen (hamstring), Tim Taranto (knee) and Sam Reid (knee) could be fit to return against the Crows and would be welcome inclusions.
All four will take part in the club's main training session on Wednesday and should get through without any major worries.
Key defender Aidan Corr (groin) could be a chance to play in the next fortnight, while forgotten star Zac Williams should finally take the field for the first time this season in the NEAFL next week after he ruptured his Achilles in January.
