Wingman Sam Gibson will make his Adelaide debut in Friday night’s clash with the Western Bulldogs.
Gibson, 31, is yet to play an AFL game for his new club after injuring his hamstring prior to Round One.
The former North Melbourne veteran is the sixth Crow to debut this season behind fellow trade period recruit Bryce Gibbs, defender Tom Doedee, midfielder Myles Poholke and draftees Darcy Fogarty and Lachlan Murphy.
Fogarty and Murphy also return to the senior team this week along with Kyle Hartigan, who has recovered from injury.
The emergencies are Curtly Hampton, Kyle Cheney, Reilly O’Brien and Patrick Wilson.
Reigning Club Champion Matt Crouch (hamstring) and consistent backman Luke Brown (adductor) join captain Taylor Walker (glute) and Mitch McGovern (ankle) on the sidelines.
Crows Head of Football Brett Burton said Crouch and Brown had suffered minor injuries.
“Matt had some hamstring soreness after this week’s main training session and will be assessed ahead of Round 10,” Burton said.
“Luke picked up an adductor strain during the game against Port Adelaide.
“He didn’t do enough at training to be available for selection this week, but he should return next week.”
Walker was treated for a glute complaint in last week’s Showdown loss.
Burton said the goalkicker was suffering the lingering effects of an interrupted pre-season.
“In recent weeks, Taylor has been restricted in his ability to get through training and games,” Burton said.
“We will now focus our attention on getting him to 100 per cent fitness and he will undergo a conditioning program over the next few weeks.”
Riley Knight was also unavailable for selection against the Dogs as part of ongoing management of hamstring tendinitis.
Forward Tom Lynch will captain Adelaide again in the absence of Walker and vice-captain Rory Sloane, who is nursing a foot injury.
On Friday night, Eddie Betts will become the 42nd player in VFL/AFL history to play 100 games with two clubs.
The game at Adelaide Oval starts at 7:20pm (SA) with gates open from 5:15pm. Match day information
