Draftee Jordan Gallucci and former basketballer Hugh Greenwood will get another chance to impress in Adelaide’s last JLT Community Series game against the Brisbane Lions on Saturday.
Young midfielders Harrison Wigg and Myles Poholke, and forward/wingman Riley Knight, who were named in an extended squad on Thursday, have been left out of the final team of 24.
Knight will miss the match because of Achilles soreness. The Club is aiming to have the hard-running 21-year-old available for Round One selection. A full injury update will be provided ahead of Adelaide’s season-opener against Greater Western Sydney on Sunday, March 26.
Gallucci, Greenwood, Jake Kelly, David Mackay, Troy Menzel and Reilly O'Brien will start Saturday's clash with the Lions on the interchange.
Wigg and Poholke starred in the Club’s SANFL trial against Sturt on Saturday morning. Defenders Kyle Cheney and Alex Keath, who have overcome groin injuries, and recruit Matt Signorello (shoulder) also returned against the Double Blues.
On Thursday, the Crows recalled forwards Eddie Betts, Josh Jenkins and Mitch McGovern for their JLT Community Series clash with the Lions at Noarlunga, which starts at 3:40pm (local).
Betts and Jenkins were both rested for the Club’s win over Geelong last weekend.
McGovern, who suffered a minor knee injury in Adelaide’s pre-season opener against Richmond, also watched from the stands last Sunday.
Midfielder Dean Gore, who was concussed in the final quarter against the Cats, and young forward Harry Dear are the other players missing from the team that beat the Cats.
