Crows utility Jasmyn Hewett will have surgery on her injured ankle on Friday and will be unavailable for the remainder of the season.
Hewett sustained the ankle injury in the trial game against Fremantle in January.
Crows AFLW High Performance Manager Brad Newton said it was unlucky for Hewett, who has done all she could.
“Unfortunately, despite doing everything right up until this point, Jas is still having trouble with her ankle,” Newton said.
“She saw a specialist today (Thursday) and the decision was made for her to undergo a small arthroscope.
“We are confident that this is the best thing for Jas and it will allow her to be up and running for the 2020 season.”
In more positive injury news, co-vice-captain Courtney Cramey and forward Jessica Sedunary are on track to be available in Round Seven.
Cramey injured her hamstring in the Round Four win in Darwin, while Sedunary hasn’t played this year after sustaining a foot sprain in pre-season.
Newton said both players were progressing well.
“Courtney has been extremely professional and meticulous in her approach to her rehab given her history,” he said.
“We are confident she will do everything she can to make sure she is available for Round Seven.
“We will continue to build Jess’ over-ground loads and change of direction this week, with the expectation that she will be available for selection in Round Seven.”
