Rebounding half-back Brodie Smith and flourishing ruckman Reilly O’Brien led the way for coaches votes in Adelaide’s 17-point win over Fremantle at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

Four Crows picked up votes with Smith receiving eight and O’Brien six.

Smith was influential across the backline and collected 25 disposals, six rebound-50s and six inside-50s.

With five one percenter plays and three marks, Smith was crucial in Adelaide’s ability to stifle Fremantle’s offence.

Meanwhile, O’Brien played with plenty of confidence in his seventh AFL game, collecting a career-high 44 hit-outs and 22 disposals.

Showing versatility and nimble athleticism as a big man, he won 13 contested possessions and four clearances.

Matt Crouch (five votes) was acknowledged by Don Pyke and Fremantle coach Ross Lyon for his game-high 39 touches.

The busy midfielder finished with 13 contested possessions and was a constant presence at the stoppages.

Two votes were awarded to co-captain Rory Sloane, who had a team-high nine clearances and tallied 33 possessions, including 15 contested.

Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe (four votes), Alex Pearce (three) and Luke Ryan (two) led the way for the Dockers.

Each round, coaches vote for five players with a mark from 1-5, with five the highest,.

One player can receive a maximum of 10 votes from a game.

The player with the most votes at the end of the season becomes the Shadforth AFLCA Champion Player of the Year.
