Injured Crows utility Wayne Milera will leave Adelaide with big shoes to fill ahead of its clash with St Kilda, assistant coach Ben Hart believes.

Crows General Manager of High Performance Matt Hass confirmed on Tuesday that Milera would miss a minimum of four weeks after suffering a shoulder injury against Gold Coast on Sunday.

Hart admitted Milera was a tricky player to replace because of his versatility to play across the ground.

“He’s a player we can use in a variety of positions,” Hart said on Tuesday.

“He’d been building his form nicely.

“We love what he brings to the team… he’ll be a big loss.”

Hart said Milera’s replacement would depend on how the Crows “structure up” for the St Kilda game.

“It might mean we need to find another forward for where Wayne was playing,” he said.

“Jordan Gallucci, Myles Poholke and Tyson Stengle have been in reasonable form.

“Possibly one of those guys.”

Despite a shift to the backline in the SANFL, Hart said Darcy Fogarty was still a realistic option to play up forward.

“Part of the reason for Darcy to go back is to learn about defence,” he said.

“It teaches you the forward craft… how to lead, when to lead.

“We certainly haven’t lost the opportunity for him to come forward, he’s a big strong body who leads at the footy.

“Wherever he fits best is where he’ll end up playing.”
