Adelaide defender Luke Brown is expected to miss the start of the JLT Community Series with an Achilles and ankle issue.
Brown was restricted to interval running and agility work at the Crows' session at West Lakes on Thursday morning.
The injury is a reoccurrence of the one the 26-year-old sustained in the round 12 loss to Fremantle last year that forced him to miss three weeks.
Brown is a chance of playing in the Crows' second JLT game against Greater Western Sydney in Canberra on March 8, but isn't considered in doubt for Round One.
WRAP UP: Pre-season in a nutshell
Midfielder Hugh Greenwood is also hoping to be available for the match with the Giants as he continues his recovery from an abdominal tendon injury, while key defenders Daniel Talia (knee) and Kyle Hartigan (knees) are expected to play some part in the JLT Series as well.
"Hugh Greenwood's done a fair bit of training, Tals has done a lot and Browny as well, so I think they're around the mark to play both games or just one of them … I think they'll play some minutes at some stage," Crows midfielder Matt Crouch said.
"Browny's been modified, he ran a fair few laps today, but he should still be right to play come round one.
"(Hartigan) trained fully today, he's had a few setbacks during pre-season, but he trained well today."
Second-year defender Andrew McPherson is the only player on the Crows' list expected to be unavailable for the start of the season as the club takes a cautious approach to his recovery from a groin issue.
VETERANS: Age not a factor for Crows
Midfielder Brad Crouch is back to full training after missing last season with groin soreness.
He could play in an Under-23s game against Port Adelaide at Thebarton Oval on February 23 to give him some valuable game time ahead of the JLT Series.
Crouch is an important player for the Crows and averaged 28.1 disposals per game in 2017.
"It's good that he's fit and feeling good, and hopefully he can have a very good year again," Matt Crouch said.
"It's not great when you miss a fair few games with injury and his confidence levels probably took a bit of a hit, but I think he's got that back through the pre-season.
"He's pretty positive, a lot more positive than last year.
"He just wants to play and get fully fit and just play footy."
