Brodie Smith’s brilliant goal against Brisbane has been nominated for the AFL Goal of the Year for Round 20.
Smith sent home the amazing major from just inside 50 with seconds remaining in the third term of Adelaide’s clash with the Lions on Saturday night.
The skilful Crow turned his opponent inside out and wheeled onto his trusty right boot, bending the goal back from just inside the arc near the boundary line at the northern end of Adelaide Oval.
Smith is the fifth Crow to be nominated for the Goal of the Year title this season.

Reigning Goal of the Year winner Eddie Betts was nominated twice in Round 10 and again in Round 19, winning both weekly votes. He’s currently the only Crow in the running for the major prize.
Young forward Mitch McGovern was also nominated in Round 19. Tom Lynch (Round Four) and Taylor Walker (Round Two) were nominated earlier in the season, but all three Crows were unable to progress beyond the weekly vote.

Fans can win a weekly cash prize of $200 just by voting for their favourite goal and go into the running for a $5,000 major prize at the end of the season, thanks to Coates Hire.
Voting opens at 12pm (EST) each round the day after the last game, and closes the night before commencement of the next round at 11.59pm (EST).
