Young Crow Chayce Jones faces a test ahead of selection this week after suffering a head knock in Adelaide’s Round Four clash with North Melbourne.
The 19-year-old collided with Roos defender Luke McDonald in the first quarter and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
“Unfortunately for Chayce, in a marking contest he got a reasonably heavy collision in the back and a bit of whiplash concussion,” Crows General Manager of High Performance Matt Hass told AFC Media on Tuesday.
“From here, he needs to progress through the concussion protocol before can make a decision with the doctors as to his availability this weekend.”
Fellow draftee Ned McHenry also faces a test after receiving a knock to the head in the final quarter of the Club’s SANFL game last Saturday.
“Ned’s responded positively, he cleared symptoms over the weekend and has commenced running so he’s quite likely for this weekend,” Hass said.
Ruckman Sam Jacobs will miss Round Five as the Club continues to take a conservative approach to his knee rehabilitation.
The 31-year-old will be re-assessed in the next 48 hours when a return-to-play date will become clearer.
