Experienced Crow Richard Douglas will be sidelined for two months following successful ankle surgery.
Douglas injured his syndesmosis on his right side during the fourth quarter of last Saturday’s loss to Hawthorn.
Science and Medical Services Coordinator Steve Saunders said there had since been a thorough investigation and specialist review, which had led to surgery yesterday.
“Examination demonstrated sufficient instability to warrant surgical stabilisation,” Saunders said.
“Syndesmosis reconstruction and a wash out of the joint were completed to ensure best outcomes for Richard in the short and long term.”
Tom Doedee has undergone reconstructive surgery of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of his left knee.
“Tom underwent a standard ACL reconstruction without complication and will now undertake early rehabilitation protocols,” Saunders said.
“He is in good spirits and looking forward to assisting the boys in any way he can, and preparing for his 2020 pre-season.”
