The Adelaide Football Club will support The Jodi Lee Foundation’s #iknowsome1 campaign to raise awareness of bowel cancer at the game against North Melbourne on Saturday night – and we need your help.

If you, or someone you know has been affected by bowel cancer, join AFL greats supporting the campaign on www.iknowsome1.com.au simply by posting your photo and/or story on Twitter or Instagram, using the hashtag #iknowsome1.

The most creative selfie, as judged by The Jodi Lee Foundation at three quarter time on game day, (June 14) will win an iPad mini valued at $500.

Crow Brodie Martin said he and the other players were moved by Jodi’s story and have thrown their full support behind #iknowsome1 in an effort to help prevent bowel cancer.

“It’s shocking to think an estimated 17,000 Australians will be diagnosed with bowel cancer this year alone – that’s about a third of Adelaide Oval when it’s full,” Martin said.

“Raising awareness of bowel cancer and the importance of early detection is a subject that is important to me. A close family friend back in Meningie has had a battle with bowel cancer in recent years. It was a real shock as she was young and fit and healthy. Fortunately she is in remission now. In fact, she took part in the Jodi Lee SA Hiking Challenge just last week.

“Getting behind the #iknowsome1 campaign for the Jodi Lee Foundation is one way we can make people more aware. Bowel cancer can be treated or even prevented if detected early through simple and regular screening.”
