Adelaide has brought in two players for its Round Four match against Essendon on Sunday afternoon.

As confirmed on Thursday, Irish recruit Amy Boyle Carr will debut and she will be joined in the team by small forward Jess Waterhouse.

The Crows signed Boyle Carr as a rookie in December after being impressed by vision of her playing Gaelic football for Donegal.

Adelaide Head of Women’s Football said Boyle Carr had worked hard to not only learn the rules, given she had never played before, but also the Crows’ game plan.

“Amy is going to be raw but we love what we see, we love how much she’s improved and we really like her speed, which we believe will add to our team,” Harper said.

“She’s come a long way in a short period of time.”

Waterhouse returns to the side after playing in the Crows’ opening round win against Port Adelaide.

“Jess played in a scrimmage over in Perth (two weeks ago) and kicked six goals, and last week played really well again in a practice match,” Harper said.

“Jess deserves another go at it.”

Brooke Boileau, Deni Varnhagen and Abbie Ballard move to the emergency list.

As reported on Thursday, Eloise Jones (Achilles) and Keeley Kustermann (ankle) will miss the game against the Bombers.

Adelaide hosts Essendon at Unley Oval on Sunday at 12.35pm.
