Adelaide has made four changes ahead of its Round 24 match against Sydney at the SCG on Saturday night.
Forward Taylor Walker returns to the team, after missing last weekend’s Showdown 56 due to an eye injury.
He is joined in the side by defender James Borlase, wing Chayce Jones and utility Billy Dowling.
“Tex has recovered well from his laser eye surgery and returns to the side,” Adelaide Head of Football Adam Kelly said.
“It was of great relief to us all that the injury sustained was not serious and he is certainly eager to sign off 2024 with a strong performance.
“Both Billy Dowling and James Borlase also return, having shown that they are more than capable at AFL level in a season where they have both grown considerably as players.”
Lachlan Gollant and Josh Rachele have been omitted from the side.
“We love the energy Josh brings to our group and he’s going to be a very important player for us for a long period of time,” Kelly said.
“Collectively, we must always prioritise the team-first focus which is so central to our values and standards.
“And we have and will continue to work with Josh in this space, as we do with all of our players, coaches and staff.”
Izak Rankine will not play due to the AFL’s concussion protocols, while Mark Keane has been granted personal leave and will also miss this weekend’s game.
“Mark has performed at a really high level for us this year and he has our full support in returning home to Ireland for family reasons,” Kelly said.
“We look forward to seeing him back for the start of pre-season.”
Gollant, Charlie Edwards and Oscar Ryan are named as the emergencies.
The Crows will name their substitute one hour before the first bounce.
Adelaide’s Round 24 match against Sydney is at the SCG on Saturday night at 7.10pm (ACST).
The match will be broadcast live on Channel 7 Adelaide and nationwide on Fox Footy and Kayo from 7pm.
