Adelaide has secured the future of one of its most promising young defenders with Sarah Goodwin signing a one-year contract extension.
Goodwin was already contracted to the end of 2025 but inked a new deal that keeps her at West Lakes until at least the end of 2026.
A product of the Crows’ Next Generation Academy, the 19-year-old was traded to Adelaide from Port Adelaide ahead of the 2023 season and lined up in all 13 matches.
Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said Goodwin had shown great promise in her first year at the Club.
“We are really pleased with how Sarah has embraced and fitted into our team,” Harper said.
“She is a reliable defender who has excellent speed and agility and we are really looking forward to seeing her grow and develop even more with another season under her belt.
“We see Sarah as an important part of our future, particularly our young and developing backline.”
Goodwin, who grew up a Crows supporter, said she had loved her time at West Lakes so far.
“I absolutely loved my first season, it was really cool to play in the Crows colours for the first time and I’m keen to keep going,” Goodwin said.
“I was pretty happy to find some form in the back end of the season so hopefully I can bring that into this coming season.
“I love the Club, the group of girls and the culture we have here so I’m really excited to see where we can go in the future.”
