Adelaide defender Luke Nankervis has been rewarded for his strong performance in the Crows’ Round 13 match against Richmond with a Round 13 NAB Rising Star nomination.
Nankervis finished the match with a career-high 28 disposals at 79 per cent efficiency, to go along with 11 marks, 10 contested possessions, 10 intercepts and 284 metres gained.
The Rising Star nomination caps a solid second season so far for Nankervis, with the 21-year-old averaging 17.3 disposals, 6.2 marks, and 3.9 intercepts across 10 games.
Originally selected as a half-forward at the 2021 Pre-Season Draft, his athleticism, agility and fast hands led him to switching to defence in 2023.
Nankervis is Adelaide’s first Rising Star nominee for 2024 and follows in the recent footsteps of Luke Pedlar (Round 16, 2023) and Max Michalanney (Round Five, 2023).
