North Melbourne recruit Jed Anderson is poised to play his first game with the Kangaroos in Saturday night’s clash with Adelaide.
Roos coach Brad Scott praised the 22-year-old, who played 10 games in three seasons at Hawthorn, and all but guaranteed Anderson would start on Saturday night against the Crows.
"The one that stands out is Jed Anderson. He has done everything we have asked of him. He has added a really dynamic element to our forward half and we're looking forward to seeing him play," Scott said on Wednesday morning.
Shaun Higgins (knee) and Robbie Tarrant (back) will be available for selection after missing the final NAB Challenge game with niggling injuries.
North is set to welcome Daniel Wells back into the team for the first time since Round Two last year but Scott eased expectations of the South Australian.
"People who think that one player comes into your team and makes all the difference are delusional," Scott said.
"'Wellsy' is going to play his part…[but] we have to get away from this concept that one player is going to be the missing piece in the puzzle. Our strength is and always has been the strength of the collective."
