Seems like the Herald Sun tipsters got it right
By Mark Stevens
ADELAIDE coach Neil Craig will not be offering excuses for the Crows' shocker on Saturday but the bye surely did his team no favours. After a stirring win against the Hawks in Round 1, it would have been nice to keep the momentum going. Instead, Craig and his players were forced to cool their heels. Next week, we are forced to endure the first multi-bye round. The Dogs, Saints and Lions all have the week off. We'll be watching to see if they are snoozing in Round 5.

Fremantle do it for Pavlich in record-breaking match
By Braden Quartermaine
THE match began with the Dockers desperate to ensure Pavlich was appropriately honoured on his big day, but ended in an exercise in showing it could cope without its most influential player as Sandilands was forced to sit out after blitzing Crows ruckman Ivan Maric in the first half. Budding Adelaide star Patrick Dangerfield tried to lift the home side with a couple of scintillating runs down the ground in the third term, finishing one with an inspirational goal before his second attempt hit the post. While the Crows were to finish with the breeze and still alive, goals in the opening five minutes of the final stanza to Chris Mayne and substitute Michael Walters ensured Fremantle was safe.

Dockers down Adelaide, Sandilands injured
By Steve Larkin
FREMANTLE ruckman Aaron Sandilands was temporarily blinded during his AFL club's stirring 25-point away triumph over Adelaide on Saturday. The Dockers stunned Adelaide with a five-goal-to-nil opening quarter and then controlled proceedings - the Crows were unable to sneak closer than four goals as Fremantle lodged a win Harvey described as significant for a variety of reasons. In contrast, an error-prone Adelaide had few winners - midfielder Scott Thompson gathered 40 possessions but many had scant impact, while Patrick Dangerfield (25 touches, seven inside 50s) underlined his growing status with an outlandish third-quarter goal. Adelaide defender Phil Davis suffered a shoulder sprain and is in doubt for their clash with home town rivals Port Adelaide next Saturday night.

Danger-man's goal of the year 'fluke'
By Andrew Capel
JASON Dunstall described Dangerfield's brilliant burst and goal as "a young man who said 'you know what, we need something and here it is', while Dwayne Russell called it "crazy good". But the explosive Crow who has made his case for goal of the year said his dazzling, three-bounce run and 50m goal in the third quarter against Fremantle was "a bit of a fluke". "And at the end of the day it's a team sport and we weren't good enough," Dangerfield said after Adelaide's disappointing 25-point defeat.

Dockers Top Crows for Pavlich

FREMANTLE celebrated captain Matthew Pavlich’s club record-breaking feat with a convincing 25-point victory over Adelaide on Saturday. Adelaide spearhead Taylor Walker booted two majors in his side's error-prone display before 33,414 spectators. Crow onballer Patrick Dangerfield, who battled gamely all match, opened third quarter scoring with a sensational goal. Dangerfield won a free kick at half-back and tore through the middle of the ground, taking three bounces and burning off Freo speedster Stephen Hill before kicking a goal from 50 metres.
