Four Adelaide players have been recognised for their outstanding 2023 AFLW campaigns, earning All-Australian selection.
Midfielders Niamh Kelly and Ebony Marinoff, defender Chelsea Biddell and forward Danielle Ponter were named in the final team of 21, which was announced at the 2023 W Awards in Melbourne on Monday night.
Kelly enjoyed a breakout season and was rewarded for her performance with All-Australian selection for the first time.
The Irishwoman averaged 18.9 disposals, 2.2 tackles and 4.3 marks across 10 games.
Marinoff has been named in the team for the sixth time and finished the season with an average of 23.4 disposals, 3.8 clearances and 7.6 tackles.
Biddell has been a pillar in defence for the Crows in 2023, averaging 15.3 disposals at 77.1 per cent efficiency and 6.9 intercept possessions.
Ponter, who featured both in the forward line and midfield this year, kicked a career-high 16 goals in the minor rounds to earn her first selection.
Adelaide Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said having four players selected, the most of any team in the competition, was a testament to the depth of the squad.
“We are very proud of Niamh, Ebony, Chelsea and Danielle for their efforts this season,” Harper said.
“Their inclusion in the All-Australian team is a great honour and well-deserved recognition of their hard work.
“One of our strengths this season has been the even contribution from all our players which is evident in four selections.”
The 2023 AFLW All Australian Selection Panel included Nicole Livingston (Chair), Andrew Dillon, Laura Kane, Jason Bennett, Kelli Underwood, Sarah Black, Katie Loynes, Narelle Smith and Megan Waters.
