Ian Callinan will be out to prove his fitness for Friday night’s season-opener against Essendon.

Callinan sustained a knock to his left knee in Adelaide’s last NAB Cup clash with Carlton. The crafty forward didn’t require scans and is rated as a ‘test’ on the Club’s injury list. Jason Porplyzia will return to full training after a light week on the track recovering from a stomach ulcer.

The Crows’ only other injury concern is young defender Brodie Smith. Smith fractured his collarbone in week one of the NAB Cup and is a month away from making a comeback.

The team will have a light football session on Max Basheer Reserve from about 9:30am on Monday, and another light run on AAMI Stadium from about 10:30am on Friday.
