Adelaide has been advised they will receive a third-round draft selection as compensation following the departure of unrestricted free agent Cam Ellis-Yolmen.
The selection, currently No.47 in this year’s national draft, was assigned to the Crows after trade paperwork was officially lodged by the Brisbane Lions on Saturday.
Ellis-Yolmen managed 39 AFL games, mainly as a midfielder, and held a rookie contract in 2019.
Crows General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid thanked the 26-year-old for his service to the Club.
“We thank Cam for his contribution over eight seasons with the Crows,” Reid said.
“Everyone at the Club wishes Cam the best of luck for the next chapter of his football journey with the Brisbane Lions.
Reid welcomed the free agency compensation, with the Crows now armed with picks 4, 23, 28 and 47 at November's AFL draft.
“From a list strategy point of view, we’re looking to rejuvenate our list which means a strong focus on the draft,” he said.
“The addition of a pick in the middle of the third-round provides extra opportunity to bring young talent into our Football Club.”
