Crows leaders Rory Sloane and Tom Lynch are free to play in Showdown XLII.

The pair was cleared by the Match Review Panel for incidents in the first quarter of Adelaide’s win over Hawthorn at the MCG.

Lynch tangled mid-air with Hawthorn star Grant Birchall in a marking contest on Saturday.

Birchall was able to play on, but scans later revealed he’d sustained a fractured jaw.

The incident was assessed, but the MRP determined both players were contesting the ball and that Lynch’s actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances.

Sloane’s contact with Hawks midfielder Tom Mitchell was also deemed not to be reportable.

The ball was loose after a centre bounce with Mitchell seeking to pick up the ball. Mitchell over-ran the ball and Sloane, who was coming from the opposite direction, continued to track the ball in a bid to win possession and contact was made.

It was the view of the panel Sloane’s actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances.

Neither incident resulted in a free kick being paid to Hawthorn on the day.
