Adelaide has recalled tall Montana McKinnon for its clash against the Western Bulldogs on Friday night.

The Crows will be searching for a seventh-straight win when they take on the Bulldogs in the first week of Indigenous Round at Norwood Oval.

McKinnon replaces Irish recruit Yvonne Bonner, who injured her knee in the win against Melbourne last Saturday.

Post-game scans on Bonner’s knee revealed a grade two medial ligament strain, and was likely to keep her on the sidelines for two to three games.

Taylah Levy, Brooke Tonon and Keeley Kustermann are named as the emergencies.

Crows AFLW Coach Matthew Clarke said it was disappointing to lose Bonner but it had created an opportunity for McKinnon.

“It was a really strong performance last week but we did come out with one injury,” Clarke said.

“Throughout the season we’ve sort of mixed and matched in terms of our ruck set-up but we’ll go in with two rucks this week.

“A little bit based on what we are coming up against in a really strong ruck with (Bulldog) Alice Edmonds.

“Montana’s form has been really strong, as well.”

Clarke said the next month of footy was crucial, as the Crows eyed a finals appearance.

“Obviously last week we were really rapt with the outcome and with how the team played,” Clarke said.

“It puts us in a really strong position, which we are really happy about.

“I think the nature of the competition keeps the focus pretty sharp, 10 games, you really have to value every one of those.

“We are absolutely looking forward to getting out to Norwood, a Friday night game… We’ve been getting really great support from our Members and supporters to all of our matches, so hopefully we will get another decent show up.”

Adelaide’s AFLW team will don its 2023 Indigenous guernsey for the first time this season - the same one the Club’s AFL and SANFL side wore earlier this year during their respective rounds.

The guernsey was designed by Anmatyerr educator and artist April Napangardi Campbell from the Ti Tree community in the Northern Territory.

Campbell is also the aunty of two-time Crows Premiership star Danielle Ponter.

Adelaide takes on the Western Bulldogs at Norwood Oval on Friday at 6.45pm.
