Adelaide forward Yvonne Bonner has been ruled out of the Crows' clash with the Western Bulldogs on Friday night.
Bonner injured her knee in Adelaide’s 10-point win over Melbourne last Saturday and scans have revealed a Grade Two medial ligament strain that will sideline her for two-to-three weeks.
Adelaide Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said that while Bonner was able to run out the match, albeit restricted in her movement, the scans revealed a significant strain.
“Yvonne has been a huge acquisition for our team this year, her training standards are elite,” Harper said.
“She has really added to our team with her running ability, goal sense and versatility.
“She will be sorely missed over the next couple of weeks but will be a welcome addition when she returns.”
Adelaide vice-captain Sarah Allan has increased her training load as she gets closer to a return from a hamstring injury.
“Sarah is progressing really well and has increased her training loads in the last week or so,” Harper said.
“We still expect it to be about another 3 weeks before she returns to play.”
Injury List as of Tuesday, 10 October
Yvonne Bonner (knee) – 2-3 weeks
Sarah Allan (hamstring) – 3 weeks
