Jason Porplyzia today had foot surgery on his plantar fascia.
Porplyzia is rehabilitating from shoulder surgery needed after he was hurt in the opening round of the season but Crows football operations general manager Phil Harper said the latest surgery would have minimal impact on Porplyzia’s training.
“It’s the same sort of foot problem Chris Knights had last year and history shows it can drag on and on, even with rest,” Harper said.
“He won’t be able to run for two or three weeks but by having the surgery now, the problem will be fixed and Jason can focus on his rehab from the shoulder operation.
“His commitment to his rehab has been outstanding so far and all going to plan he will return before the end of the season.”
