Welsh, who also showed some good signs the previous week, kicked his six goals from full forward against ladder leader Woodville-West Torrens, despite West losing 40 points. He had 16 possessions and took nine marks.
Hudson’s return from a knee injury led to the rare sight of television news cameras appearing during an SANFL reserves game.
In his first game for nearly 12 months, Hudson had 27 taps and about 15 possessions in a half of footy for North Adelaide and has now been cleared to play a full game this weekend.
A number of other Crows had good games for their SANFL clubs.
Ruckman John Meesen was very competitive for Norwood, which upset North. He had 13 possessions and 17 hit outs. Darren Pfeiffer made the most of his chance at league level with the Redlegs, performing strongly on a wing and collecting 25 possessions.
John Hinge and Richard Douglas both played well for Glenelg in its big win over Port on Sunday. The club’s report of Hinge highlighted his “one percenters” and run from defence.
Ivan Maric led the ruck for Port and was rated as solid. He had 19 hit-outs and 14 possessions.
Luke Jericho started in attack for West but then was good after half-time when shifted into defence.
Jonathon Griffin rucked off the bench for Central District and was solid while Ian Perrie lacked some touch but battled hard for North and kicked two goals.
