Adelaide has reached new heights with the Crows recording 68,536 members, following the release of the AFL’s official audited 2023 numbers.
The figure is an all-time membership record for the Club, and it sits well above the previous record of 64,825 paid up and proud members set in 2018.
According to League data, Collingwood (106,470), West Coast (103,275) and Richmond (101,349) led this year’s tally, with cross town rivals Port Adelaide achieving 64,041.
It means Adelaide maintains the position of the number one AFL club in South Australia.
Crows CEO Tim Silvers said the Club is progressing well both on and off the field and the membership base had helped underpin a period of stability and growth.
“There has been a lot to like about this year and we are starting to see some reward for our efforts however, we are far from satisfied and there is much more to achieve,” Silvers said.
“We are obviously disappointed to not be playing in the men’s finals right now and it’s an ambition we want to deliver on next year.
“Our members continue to ride the highs and lows and stand by us, and we are proud and grateful that so many of them commit to all of our 11 home games at Adelaide Oval.
“It’s a good time to be a Crows member as things are trending in the right direction.”
Adelaide’s tally includes 6,722 AFLW members – as of the AFL’s August 31 cut-off date for 2023 membership – which surpasses last year’s total of 6,706.
This number is expected to continue to grow given the women’s season still has nine of its 10 home-and-away matches remaining.
“We had a great crowd for our opening home game at Norwood Oval and the team delivered on-field too,” Silvers said.
“Our players have shown they can perform when it matters and I encourage all Crows fans to get behind them, as we expect to be challenging strongly come finals time.”
Combined club membership also reached an all-time high, with the League announcing a total of 1,264,952 members, up 6.2 percent on last year.
It means one in 21 Australians is a member of an AFL club.
