Adelaide has achieved an all-time membership record and the tally is expected to keep growing in coming weeks.
There is currently 66,593 paid up and proud members which is well above the previous record of 64,825, set in 2018, and it comes off the back of a surge in recent sign-ups.
Crows CEO Tim Silvers sincerely thanked the loyal supporters – majority of whom have stuck with the Club for many years.
“Riding the highs and lows of a footy season is not for the faint hearted and I’m glad that we’ve been able to reward our members’ passion with some memorable performances this season,” Silvers said.
“We have focussed on trying to strengthen our connection with all Crows fans and this significant milestone is a credit to everyone – players, coaches, staff and members.
“This year’s travel schedule has been demanding and we’ll end up going to six states and territories, and few teams can lay claim to the kind of support we receive no matter where we go.
“Support for our women’s team is as strong as ever and with the AFLW season soon to start, I encourage those who haven’t signed up to do so because we are well positioned to once again challenge strongly.”
The record figure, which includes more than 5500 AFLW members, is expected to grow further in the lead-up to the League’s August 31 cut-off date for 2023 membership.
Adelaide is currently offering supporters the opportunity to sign up as an AFL member for 2024 and get a ticket to their final men’s home game of this season – against Sydney this Saturday – for just $1.
Silvers described the membership offering as a reward for those who were keen to commit to next season.
“We want as many Crows fans as possible there for our final AFL home game against Sydney. The match is nearing a sell-out and we hope this initiative gives them the added incentive to sign on,” he said.
“In addition, to celebrate and thank our current members, we’re giving away hundreds of prizes and a host of money-can’t-buy game day experiences to those who come along.”
Adelaide will thank and reward members and fans with a range of special activities and giveaways at the Round 23 clash with Sydney at Adelaide Oval this Saturday at 7.10pm as part of Members Round, thanks to RAA.
Fans will be treated to a double-header, with the Crows’ AFLW team scheduled to play a trial match against Geelong at Adelaide Oval on Saturday at 4.10pm.
