Adelaide will open its 2023 AFLW campaign with a home Showdown at Norwood Oval on Saturday, September 2 in the first of two games at The Parade.
The second ever women’s Showdown – scheduled on the AFL’s pre-finals bye weekend – headlines the Crows’ 10-round fixture which was released today.
It is one of two home games to be played at Norwood Oval along with a blockbuster Friday night clash with the Western Bulldogs on October 13.
The Crows will also play three home games at the family-friendly Unley Oval against Essendon, Gold Coast and North Melbourne.
Following the season-opener against Port Adelaide, the Crows will travel to Melbourne to take on Richmond at IKON Park in Round Two, before returning home to play the Bombers for the first time in Round Three.
Crows fans across the country will also get the opportunity to see the team play in person with trips to Canberra, Brisbane and Perth, as well as two matches in Melbourne.
Crows CEO Tim Silvers said the fixture offered something for everyone with a mix of timeslots across two popular venues which will make it easier for fans of all ages to get involved and support the team.
“After the first AFLW Showdown last season it was clear our rivalry with Port Adelaide is just as strong in the women’s competition so we’re excited to open the season with a Showdown in front of what should be a great crowd,” Silvers said.
“Both Norwood and Unley offer a family-friendly atmosphere and recent upgrades to these venues means there is greater opportunities for us to work with the AFL and our partners to enhance our match-day experience for members and fans.
“We obviously want continued on-field success and we are committed to seeing the women’s game grow in South Australia, and appreciate the role we have to play in developing players, coaches, administrators and helping to attract new supporters.
“Our players are working hard in pre-season and for the first time the squad has been training together all day on a Friday in a glimpse to the future of what we all hope will one day be a full-time professional competition.”
The Club has launched its AFLW membership packages and fans eager to catch the action can do so with an Adelaide Crows AFLW Membership starting from just 8.50 per game.
