Adelaide defender Mitch Hinge says coming to the Crows with a point to prove has brought the best out of him.
Hinge, who arrived at West Lakes as a delisted free-agent from Brisbane at the end of 2020 after playing just three matches, has become a reliable fixture in the Crows back six over the past two seasons.
Joining Sauce and Thomo on last week’s edition of The Crows Radio Show, Hinge said he has loved the opportunity to grow his game alongside an emerging group at the Crows.
“It’s been good (playing with the Crows), I came over to Adelaide to play some footy and really show everyone what I can do,” Hinge said.
“A lot of credit needs to go to the boys and coaches for backing me.
“But at the end of the day I’ve always had that inner belief that I can do it at the highest level which has really helped me take the opportunities when they come.
“I still think I’ve got a lot more to give and only scratching the surface of what I can do, and being part of this emerging group is a great spot for me to continue to grow.”
The 25-year-old South Australian has taken his game to new heights in 2023, averaging 18.4 disposals and 4.5 marks per game.
He has also eclipsed his career-high disposal tally in each of the last two matches (26 against North Melbourne and 27 against Essendon), capping his purple patch of form.
