Two Crows polled votes from the coaches against Richmond on Saturday night.
Ruckman Sam Jacobs, who received three votes, was considered the best Crow on the ground.
Jacobs won 46 hit-outs in his battle with former teammate Ivan Maric. Jacobs collected 14 touches, seven clearances, four inside 50ms, a goal assist and also laid five tackles to keep his name firmly in front of All-Australian selectors.
Young midfielder Brad Crouch was the only other Adelaide player to earn a vote (one) from Brenton Sanderson and Damien Hardwick. Crouch gathered 22 possessions, a game-high nine clearances, seven tackles, three inside 50ms and one goal assist. It’s the fifth time in six rounds the Rising Star runner-up has featured in the voting for the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year.
Classy Tiger Brett Deledio received maximum (10) votes after gathering 29 touches and two goals in his team’s 10-point win. In-form wingman Brandon Ellis, who racked up 31 disposals to be the leading possession-getter on the ground, was awarded eight votes. Captain Trent Cotchin amassed 28 touches and a goal to earn five votes. Fellow onballers Anthony Miles (two) and Shane Edwards (one) rounded out the voting.
Fremantle star Nathan Fyfe remains on top of the overall Leaderboard despite not polling a vote in his team’s impressive win over Hawthorn. Robbie Gray clawed to within three votes of Fyfe after collecting nine votes in Port Adelaide’s win against Gold Coast. Swans onballer Josh Kennedy, who was substituted out of Sydney’s big win over St Kilda because of injury, is third on 83 votes.
Two-time All Australian Patrick Dangerfield is Adelaide’s leading vote-getter on 47. Fellow acting co-captain Rory Sloane has polled in more games (eight) than any other Crow.
