Adelaide and St Kilda have faced off 47 times and the Crows have the advantage in the head-to-head ledger - 29 wins, one draw and 17 losses.
The last time the teams met was in Round 10, 2022, where an eight-goal final quarter from St Kilda helped them prevail by 21 points.
Saints forward Max King proved the difference booting six goals, while Adelaide Skipper Jordan Dawson was strong for his side, finishing with 22 disposals, 10 marks and two goals.
St Kilda is one of two clubs that Adelaide has recorded a draw against (the other being Collingwood).
The Crows and the Saints shared the spoils in Round 14, 1994, and it was Adelaide’s first drawn game.
In that game, Adelaide fought back in the final quarter to keep St Kilda scoreless, and Shaun Rehn left his mark on the contest, amassing 30 touches, 15 marks and 21 hit-outs.
Adelaide has played the Saints twice in the finals, losing one - a qualifying final in 2005.
The most noteworthy win, however, was the 1997 Grand Final, where Adelaide triumphed by 31 points to win its maiden AFL Premiership.
Andrew McLeod was named best on ground, winning the Norm Smith Medal after collecting 31 disposals and 11 marks, while Darren Jarman booted six goals.
A memorable win in more recent times over the Saints came in Round 13, 2021.
Riley Thilthorpe, in his eighth game of League football, stepped up in the final quarter.
The forward kicked Adelaide’s final two goals of the game, including booting one over his head in the goal square during the final minutes, to help his side to a six-point victory.
The Crows have kicked plenty of big scores against the Saints, recording more than 100 points 15 times in the 29 games they have won.
Adelaide fans could be in for another high scoring affair on the weekend, as the Crows are currently ranked the fifth highest scoring team this season, averaging 90.1 points a game.
In recent meetings against the Saints, defender Tom Doedee has made his presence felt, averaging 17.8 disposals, 5.3 marks and 8.3 intercept possessions.
Forward Taylor Walker has also enjoyed playing against St Kilda throughout his career, averaging 2.4 goals and 12.5 disposals.
St Kilda Captain Jack Steele has averaged 24.4 disposals, 7.4 tackles and 7.6 clearances against Adelaide since joining the club in 2017.
The Crows will be working hard to limit Saints defender Callum Wilkie, who sits in the top three in the AFL for intercept marks (3.8 per game), ranks second in intercept possession (9.1 per game), and has been averaging 20.8 disposals a game.
St Kilda will need to keep an eye on Adelaide small forward Lachlan Murphy, who is coming off a solid game against Geelong.
Murphy collected 19 disposals, five tackles, five clearances and six inside 50s.
He also leads the Crows in goal assists, with eight this season.
St Kilda has struggled to win at Adelaide Oval, only recording three wins and 12 losses.
In those 12 losses, the Saints have gone down by an average of 46.3 points.
If Adelaide wins and Essendon and Carlton both lose, the Crows will climb back into the top eight.
