Stats that matter
Friday night's game at the MCG attracted the highest-ever attendance (54,790) for a home & game involving the Crows.

Patrick Dangerfield has played 65 games in succession, having not missed a match since Round 19, 2010. Scott Thompson holds the longest active streak (66 games) at the Club. Dangerfield picked up three Brownlow votes against Geelong in a losing side in Round 18 last season, while Thompson polled three votes in Adelaide’s most recent win against the Cats in Round Seven, last year.

Geelong is the best kicking team in the competition, with a kicking efficiency of 67 per cent. The Cats are also ranked No.1 in inside 50ms, averaging 58.3 per game. The Crows are ninth with an average of 52.6 forward entries per game.

The Cats restricted Melbourne to a record-low 19 inside 50ms at Simonds Stadium last weekend.

Young forward Tom Lynch hauled in 11 marks (level with Collingwood star Travis Cloke) on Friday night. It’s the fourth time this season Lynch has taken 11 marks in a game. He now leads the Club in marks this season, with 97 from 12 games and is ranked 14th in the AFL.

Tough Cats skipper Joel Selwood leads the competition in free-kicks for (40). The Selwood brothers are due to reach a combined tally of 515 games this week to become the eighth best-performed set of brothers in VFL / AFL history.

Lynch has also jumped to the top of Adelaide’s goalkicking in 2013. His four-goal haul against the Magpies takes him to 24 for the season, one ahead of Josh Jenkins (23) and three ahead of Patrick Dangerfield (21). Premiership player Tom Hawkins leads Geelong’s goalkicking with 36.

Swingman Harry Taylor is ranked sixth in the League for marks (109) and eighth in contested marks (26). Geelong forward James Podsiadly is also a strong target, equal-sixth in contested marks.

Mathew Stokes (373) is Geelong’s leading possession-getter this season. Stokes is also ranked second in the AFL for goal assists (18).

Corey Enright is due to play his 259th game for Geelong this week, drawing level with Paul Couch in eighth spot in the club’s history.
