Former Adelaide on-baller Sam Kerridge is remembered by most Crows fans for his incredible six-goal haul against North Melbourne.

It was Round Nine 2013, and the Crows were facing the Kangaroos at what was then known as Etihad Stadium.

The hosts held a 30-point lead at the nine-minute mark of the final term and things looked dire for the Crows.

But an inspired performance by Kerridge, fellow former Crow Patrick Dangerfield and a last-gasp sealer from ex-Crow Jared Petrenko helped Adelaide to victory.

Speaking on the latest episode of Triple M’s The Crows Radio Show with Sauce and Thomo, Kerridge revealed that six-goal performance came after a “spray” from former coach Brenton Sanderson.

“I’m still not even sure what happened,” Kerridge said.

“I remember getting a spray at half-time from Sando for being a bit fumbly.

“I was only a few games into my career and I thought ‘I’m in for a long afternoon, here’.

“Then, low and behold, right place, right time on six occasions and somehow they sailed through and it’s certainly not a game I’ll forget.”

Kerridge, who played 69 AFL games for the Crows and Carlton from 2012-2018, said he was proud of his career, given he worked hard and never left anything to chance.

“I was never the most talented or the most skilled and I certainly wasn’t the quickest,” Kerridge said.

“But one thing I certainly had was determination and a will to work hard and get the best out of myself.”
