Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks has conceded players may be dealt a “stiff” selection call thanks to the strength of his side’s form.
With an injury list of just Josh Worrell and Hugh Bond - with Darcy Fogarty to face a late fitness test - Adelaide is spoilt for choice for its final 22.
“There (would) be some players in good form, that if we decide to go down that path, that will be extremely stiff,” Nicks said on Tuesday.
“We’ve got a squad that is performing well and we’ve brought in players to play roles, and those that have come in have played at the highest level.
“It’s been really pleasing, that pressure from below and the performances brought.”
The Crows will launch Gather Round on Thursday night against Carlton off the back of a short, five-day turnaround.
Although players had recovered well, Nicks said bringing in fresh players (who didn’t play on the weekend) would be a consideration.
“We haven’t seen many of these five-day breaks so it’s an interesting experiment for us,” he said.
“We’ve got a number of players for different reasons that are now available that are fresher than those on the weekend.
“McAdam is available for selection, so too is Pedlar (following suspension). Sam Berry was part of our management program (and is available).
“We’ll sit down in match committee and go through all of that.”
Adelaide will face Carlton at Adelaide Oval on Thursday night at 7.10pm.
The match will be televised live on Channel 7, Fox Footy and Kayo.
