The Adelaide Football Club has confirmed details of an arborist’s report which specifies the number of trees impacted in the proposed Thebarton Oval Precinct.
The report, along with on-site surveying, shows 73 trees will need to be removed from Kings Reserve.
An alternative option, featuring a smaller second oval, was also presented to the Master Plan Advisory Group (MAG) in March and it requires the removal of 50 trees – a reduction of 23 compared to the initial plan.
The MAG, which comprises City of West Torrens, Kaurna, Crows and community representatives, has been provided with the appropriate information ahead of its meeting next month.
The Club is committed to no net loss of trees with significant new planting and landscaping proposed as part of the overall master plan.
This includes the planting of three mature trees for every one significant/regulated tree removed.
